Based on my 20-plus years of experience in estate planning, I will work with you to devise the estate plan that is right for you and your family. With my experience in Probate & Estate administration, I will prepare required court filings and be there to guide and inform your named Personal Representative in making decisions regarding estate assets, giving advice regarding estate expenses and creditors, and ultimately distributing assets to your chosen beneficiaries.

I offer a broad range of services in the Estate Planning and Probate & Estate administration areas. These include:

Estate Planning - When the time comes, you will want to make sure that your loved ones inherit and benefit from the assets you have built up during your lifetime. With decades of experience in this area, I am here to help guide you through the complex rules that inform the estate planning process, and help you determine what makes sense for you and your family based on your unique circumstances. In your Will, you will name the guardian for your minor children and also name the Personal Representative to represent your estate. When needed, I can assist you in deciding who to name in these two important roles. Many families will also create a Trust to hold assets for the benefit of those who cannot manage assets for themselves, and you will need to name a Trustee, who is needed to guard, manage, and distribute assets to the Trust's named beneficiaries. When needed, I can assist you in deciding who to name as the Trustee. Once the decision-making process is complete, I will draft your estate plan in accordance with your wishes.
Probate & Estate Administration - I offer assistance throughout the Probate & Estate Administration process, including drafting forms, giving advice regarding taxes, creditors, and expenses of the estate, and ensuring your Personal Representative makes the proper submissions to the probate court
During your Lifetime – Most clients will also need a Durable Power of Attorney and a Health Care Proxy. These documents assign an agent that can make financial and health care decisions on your behalf when and if you are unavailable to make those decisions for yourself. In addition, some clients may also want to implement lifetime gifting programs to effectively reduce estate taxes. Another approach is to make loans to a loved one and then ultimately forgive the indebtedness. These programs require careful attention to detail, and The Law Office of Lauren E.
